Sarah Ferguson previously broke her silence about her split from Prince Andrew, and she likened it to a ship without an anchor.

During her 1996 interview with Canadian television host Dini Petty, Ferguson said that the saddest thing about their marriage was that she was unable to live with Prince Andrew as much as she wanted to after they tied the knot.

“That’s what’s so sad for Andrew and I know, because we were getting married like every other normal person that gets married and are in love and we didn’t realize that by getting married and being in love we weren’t allowed to see each other. We didn’t realize that no sooner had we got married then he would go away and I couldn’t live with him in naval quarters,” she said (via Express).

The mom of two also said that she felt as though she was a ship without an anchor when Prince Andrew left her for the navy.

“The whole reason for being at Buckingham Palace was my man and I followed him round like a little doggy because I’d have to learn from him. How on earth was I going to learn how to wave or how to talk to people in public or how to do this or do that unless I followed him. Suddenly he was gone and I was sort of like a ship without an anchor,” she said.

In 2009, Ferguson said a similar thing about her marriage to Prince Andrew. While talking to US TV host Ernie Manouse, she said that they decided to divorce because they couldn’t find the time to be together physically.

“My deal was that I was marrying my man, who happened to be a prince and a naval officer. But what I got was not the man, I got the palace and I didn’t get him…” she said (via Express).

In related news, Ferguson will take center stage at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding. The royal couple will tie the knot at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle on Oct. 12. A carriage procession will follow on the grounds of Windsor afterward.
