Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew’s body language at Princess Eugenie’s royal wedding on Oct. 12, 2018, says a lot about their real relationship with each other.

In the official family portrait, the Duchess of York is standing on the right-hand side of the photograph, next to Prince Andrew. Body language expert Judie James explained what the couple’s gestures really meant at that time.

“The wedding was a frustrating event for everyone keen to see Fergie and Andrew finally show signs of rekindling their relationship. Pre-wedding photos showed them laughing together and looking quite intimate, with Sarah appearing to reprise her role as the woman who could cut through some of Andrew’s pompous behaviors and make him laugh,” James told Express.

On the wedding day itself, Prince Andrew performed touchingly in the role of a fond an attentive father to Princess Eugenie, almost taking Ferguson’s place in fussing over his daughter’s wedding dress and veil.

When Prince Andrew arrived at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, Ferguson, and Princess Beatrice were already inside. The former couple barely looked at each other during the service. At some point, Ferguson also appeared to be tip-toeing into the chapel to avoid any fuss surrounding her and the fact that Prince Philip was also there.

After the ceremony, the Yorks posed with a photograph with Jack Brooksbank’s family, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, and their entourage.

“Sarah and Andrew threw up such strong signals of spontaneous rapport that all bets were off again regarding their closeness. Andrew left his daughter’s side to stand towards the margins of the line-up and next to his ex-wife,” James explained.

There was also a significant gap between the Duke and Duchess of York, which signified their divorced status. But the similarities in their body language suggested their strong bonds of empathy and like-mindedness.

As of late, Prince Andrew and Ferguson have not officially gotten back together but rumors that they’ve rekindled their romance have not died down.
