Rio expresses his desire to meet his cousin who lives in the village where he has been staying. "Seirei Gensouki - Spirit Chronicles" Episode 9 will showcase Rio meeting his cousin after a long time. The new episode is called "Each of Their Decisions."

He wants to tell his cousin about his lineage. Rio vows to face his past and accept the ugliness within him and move forward.

In the previous "Seirei Gensouki - Spirit Chronicles" episode, Rio finally met his mother's parents who were the king and queen of the Kingdom of Karasuki.

He visited the royal castle with Gouki and met King Karasuki Homura and Queen Karasuki Shuziki. Homura noted Rio looked like his mother Ayame.

Both Homura and Shuziki were happy to meet their grandson and they wanted to deepen their relationship.

Later, Shuziki asked Rio about Ayame. Rio revealed Ayame was tragically killed by an evil person named Lucius.

They enjoy a meal and are doing some shopping when wandering warriors attempt to abduct a young girl. Rio jumps into the fray and easily defeats them, saving the girl. Her name is Komomo and she's the tax examiner Hayate's younger sister. Hayate's father Gouki receives a letter from Yuba. What he reads astonishes him and he and his wife, Kayoko, visit the lodgings where Rio is staying.
