Our favorite summer sudsers may have just hit the small screen with sizzling drama, but that hasn’t stopped networks from trying to cool things down with the premiere dates of its fall shows.

Showtime announced Wednesday when its beloved autumn installments will return — including Season 7 of the hit dramedy “Shameless.” And, according to reports, fans of the boozy series will have to start preparing now for a reunion with the Gallagher family, because “Shameless” is set to air two months earlier than usual.

“Shameless” is said to be returning for its seventh season on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 9 p.m. And while we’re excited to meet up with Frank (William H. Macy), Fiona (Emmy Rossum) and the rest of the Chicago gang this fall, we can’t help but question why the series has bumped its typical January premiere date.

But it looks like were not the only ones excited for the Gallagher clan to cause chaos earlier than expected. Rossum took to Twitter to state her excitement for the arrival of the forthcoming installment, which was renewed for a 12-episodic seventh season in January.

In addition to Fox announcing the return date of “Shameless,” the network also revealed that “Masters of Sex” will continue its steamy Season 4 storyline Sunday, Sept. 11, at 10 p.m. ET, while “The Affair” will kick off its third season on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 10 p.m. ET.
