Olympic Gymnast Simone Biles and Houston Texans Safety Jonathan Owens are officially engaged.

Biles, 24, posted four photos announcing the proposal to her Twitter account on Tuesday, tagging Owens, 26, and writing, “WOKE UP A FIANCÉE. I can’t wait to spend forever & ever with you, you’re everything I dreamed of and more! let’s get married!”

She also posted more photos, as well as a close-up video of the ring onto her Instagram account, describing the news as the “THE EASIEST YES.”

The couple began dating right before the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic in March 2020, with Biles telling Wall Street Journal Magazine in July of 2021 that she “slid into his DMs.”

“I saw him and I was like, ‘Oh, he’s pretty cute,’ so I said hi…and then I saw that he was in the Houston area, so we started chatting a little bit, and then we went to hang out a week or two later,” she added.

Owens told Texas Monthly in January 2021 that the quarantine period during the pandemic helped them grow closer as a couple.

“It was one of the few times in her life where everything was just shut off and she couldn't do anything. So, we used it to get to know each other—really get to know each other. It created our bond and made it stronger. Now I'm so thankful,” Owens said.

“This was a match made in heaven. There’s no better person for me. She loves me, she’s so affectionate. I just love that. And it’s just intoxicating seeing how much work she puts into everything,” he added.
