Fans of “Sister Wives” were stunned in November 2021 when Christine Brown announced she was separating from her husband, and now, they watched how the decision to end their spiritual marriage came to be on the most recent season of the TLC show. Of course, fans also are curious about whether or not Kody is still involved with his first two wives, Meri and Janelle.

Fans have often speculated about the relationships, especially Kody’s with Meri, which has been strained for several years, and the pair have been open about their struggles, even admitting in the Jan. 30 tell-all that their marriage was basically over, with Meri admitting that they hadn’t had any intimacy for over a decade.

“That’s definitely something that I miss. I miss emotional intimacy with him. I miss conversations with him. I miss physical intimacy with him,” she said. “I would love if he would hold my hand. I have hope that he will [come back to full fellowship] and also if he never does then I'm going to create my own peace and happiness within the family relationships that I do have. This is my family.”

However, the pair maintains they don’t intend to separate, with Meri even taking to Instagram on Feb. 4 to address the situation.

“A few months ago, I used the word ‘estranged’ regarding my relationship, in a conversation with a friend. It was the first time I had vocalized it, and it felt...honest,” she wrote. “It was hard to use, and yet somewhat freeing. I know where my relationship is. I’m not oblivious to that. I will always look for the best in people and situations, and hope they see it too...I try not to put labels on things but over the past few months as that ‘certain TV show’ has been airing, I’ve been labeled.”

“...The truth is, I KNOW my value. I KNOW my worth. Who I AM, what I want in life, what I aspire to be, and what I feel like I'm doing a pretty dang good job at, is being happy,” she added.

However, Meri isn’t the only wife Kody is apparently on the outs with, as he and Janelle are also not having much of an intimate relationship, with the pair admitting on part two of the tell-all, which will air on Feb. 6, that they aren’t on the same page anymore either.

“We’re not in sync. We don’t partner really well but we actually just are able to have a marriage that’s, if you will, lower in attachment,” he said. “I don’t even know. We’re good friends, we get along well. It’s more of a, like, just a committed relationship.”
