  • Insomniac Games has revealed three new characters in "Spider-Man: Miles Morales"
  • Danika Hart, Hailey Cooper and Ganke Lee might have roles to play in the game
  • Miles will also have an adorable crime-fighting companion in Spider-Cat

Three new supporting characters for the upcoming “Spider-Man: Miles Morales” game have been introduced by Insomniac Games via Twitter.

With Miles Morales being a relatively new character compared to the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker, it follows that people are more familiar with the characters in the version that is nearly 50 years old.

Thus, Insomniac Games is using this opportunity to familiarize players with characters revolving around the younger Spider-Man ahead of the game’s launch on Nov. 12. Using a format recently used to reveal some new costumes in the game, the fictional Daily Bugle Now online publication is the vehicle for the profiles.

Miles is given the spotlight, particularly useful if gamers do not know him or didn’t watch the award-winning “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.” He’s portrayed as a talented young producer who has made a makeshift studio in his bedroom and wants to keep making music.

Danika Hart is a young podcaster who thinks Spider-Man is misunderstood and a hero unlike what some are saying. Street artist Hailey Cooper, meanwhile, uses art to express herself and does not let her hearing disability keep her from moving people and raising awareness on current issues.

Finally, tech developer Ganke Lee has not yet left high school but is already developing an app that he believes will be a big help to people in trouble.

Curiously, the profiles are credited to writer Betty Brant, a name familiar to Spider-Man fans as someone Peter Parker once dated and served as secretary for one of Peter’s nemeses, J. Jonah Jameson.

Aside from these characters, Miles will also have an adorable crime-fighting companion in Spider-Cat in “Spider-Man: Miles Morales.” Though he won't have superpowers, Spider-Cat will don a tiny mask to hide its secret identity.

As an exclusive title for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, “Spider-Man: Miles Morales” is one of the games that have been confirmed to arrive with the next-gen console at launch.

The introduction of supporting characters in this manner weeks ahead of the game’s arrival can allow its audience to get familiar with them.
