Online bookmaker Sportingbet said on Friday the arrest of its Chairman Peter Dicks in New York on Thursday was linked to the alleged violation of Louisiana State laws relating to gambling by computer.

Investors had been keen for an update on whether the arrest of Dicks was linked to the group's sports betting operations, or whether it was linked to online gambling in general, including poker and casino wagers.
