A preview video for "Star Trek: Discovery" Season 2, episode 4 showed that the next big threat to the Discovery is a strange phenomenon in space that has them trapped. Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) believes that they are caught like a fly in a web.

Who has trapped the Discovery? Is this phenomenon connected to the red bursts? The fans will have to watch "Star Trek: Discovery" Season 2, episode 4 to find out.

The threat is big enough to trigger a condition in Saru (Doug Jones) that leads to death. Saru is a Kelpien, a species that has the ability to sense the coming of death. Has his time finally come or is this a false alarm?

Another crew member who will be in danger in the next episode of “Star Trek: Discovery” Season 2 is Sylvia Tilly (Mary Wiseman). The fungus that was extracted from her body in the previous episode appears to be back. The trailer shows the alien species attaching itself to Tilly.

The crew of the Discovery has been growing. The latest addition is Jett Reno (Tig Notaro). A teaser photo of the character from the next episode posted on Star Trek website showed that she will get into the action once again.

A new character joining in “An Obol for Charon” is simply referred to as Number One (Rebecca Romijn). The actual name of the character may be revealed in the episode. A set of pictures from Season 2, episode 4 posted on the Star Trek website revealed this new character chatting with Captain Pike.
