New photos from the “Suicide Squad” set in Montreal show Jared Leto trying to hide his Joker costume. In the pictures revealed by Just Jared, Leto can be seen wearing a black cloak atop his costume. He seems to be wearing heavy makeup as he walks away from a bus that is parked behind him. He appears to have red lips, red outline around his eyes and tainted teeth. He also seems to have a red and white tattoo on the back of his hand and a purple tie can be seen hanging from his shirt’s collar.

The Oscar winner’s role as the Joker is much anticipated. His look as the Joker is much different from what has been played previously on the silver screen. Jack Nicholson played the role in 1989's “Batman” and the late actor Heath Ledger did so in 2008's “The Dark Knight.” Ledger, who even received a posthumous Academy Award for playing the role, sported curly green hair, white face, dark red lips and black eyes whereas Leto’s Joker will be seen sporting an array of tattoos and jewelry, including chains and rings. He will also be seen wearing a tattoo on his forehead that says “Damaged.”

In the comics, the Joker gets a peculiar white face after he falls into a tank of chemical waste. His lips turn red and his hair turns green. He is the archnemesis of Batman and is the love interest of Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie). Created by Jerry Robinson, Bill Finger, Bob Kane, the character is a goofy prankster and a criminal mastermind.

Leto has reportedly bulked up for the role. "I’m trying to gain a lot of weight. It means I have to eat every couple of hours -- and I’m terrible at eating a lot,” he told Billboard.

Other cast members include Will Smith, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne and Viola Davis. David Ayer is directing and Richard Suckle, Charles Roven and Colin Wilson are the producers. The movie is set to open in the theaters Aug. 5, 2016.
