At the end of Season 6, episode 11 of “Suits,” Harvey (Gabriel Macht) furiously lashed out at Louis (Rick Hoffman) about how he’s not fit to lead Pearson Specter Litt (PSL). Although Louis acknowledged that there’s truth to what Harvey had told him, it was clear that the financial law expert was hurt by the harsh treatment he got from his fellow name partner. Since Harvey and Louis have always had a love-hate relationship, it’s expected that they will eventually reconcile. But how exactly will the two patch things up now that Jessica (Gina Torres) is no longer in the firm?

In an interview with USA Network, series creator Aaron Korsh revealed that now that Jessica is gone, Harvey and Louis are going to learn how to settle their disputes on their own.

“Having two young children myself, when they know we [their parents] are there, it gives them a little more license to argue because they know we’re going to step in and stop it,” Korsh said. “When they think we’re not there and we can hear them, they’re better with each other. I think that’s the case with Louis and Harvey. Subconsciously, they know the person who used to save them from killing each other isn’t there anymore. They have to self-correct.”

Korsh told TV Guide that Harvey was trying to “self-referee” at the beginning of the winter premiere, but he failed to maintain his peace-loving attitude when Mike (Patrick J. Adams) turned down his job offer. Despite the existing misunderstandings between Harvey and Louis, Korsh said that the pair’s relationship is going to evolve “in the last six [episodes] in a positive way.”

“They make a lot of strides,” the exec producer teased. “It allows for some humor. They have some fun, funny and emotional scenes in [episode] 13 and moving forward.”
