In 2016, Lil Wayne found himself in hot water when he gave his thoughts on the Black Lives Matter movement saying it was “weird” and revealing it had nothing to do with him because he wasn’t “connected to it.” Following his comments, T.I. took to Instagram to call Lil Wayne out and has since gone on to reveal that the two have not spoken since then.

T.I.’s comments during a SXSW interview in March were recently unearthed by Baller Alert. In a now-deleted video from the website, the rapper detailed their relationship.

“I ain’t spoke to lil bro,” T.I. said. “I mean, that was probably one of the most difficult responses and one of the most difficult tasks I’ve been faced with.” The hip-hop artist went on to say that he felt the need to call Lil Wayne out in public rather than in private. “This ain’t cool, this ain’t how we rocking. And I don’t think that could’ve been done in private. That was something that had to be done publicly.”

T.I. was also asked if he felt celebrities such as Lil Wayne should get involved with issues like Black Lives Matter. According to the rapper, it’s important for celebs to do what they are passionate about. “Like if they have a true passion and they really sincerely care enough, then I think they should speak on it.”

While the artist would like to see celebrities speaking about issues they care about, he also doesn’t want them to feel forced to comment. “But at the same time, I don’t think they should force themselves if they don’t have an opinion,” he said.

The rapper’s latest comments echo some of what he said in his original Instagram post, where he tagged Lil Wayne, writing, “Our relationship outside of music is what makes me sensitive to your disposition. I KNOW you wired a bit different than most other responsible adults, but... U TRIPPING!!!!”

“Our people are being oppressed!!! We are being hunted, captured and slaughtered out here daily!!! You have to get outta that bubble that you’ve been living in and get out here & educate yourself on what's going on around US!!!” he continued. “I’m always here to share whatever knowledge or understanding I may have to assist your growth and development, but u MUST STOP this buffoonery and coonin’ you out here doin.”

T.I. went on to tell Lil Wayne he was embarrassing himself and offered “Tha Carter IV” artist some advice. “I know U,YOURE BETTER THAN THIS… If you’re not prepared for a question in an interview, say No Comment Bro. But stop embarrassing yourself and everyone out here who’s been supporting you. There is no middle ground. Oppression knows no neutral party, either you’re part of the oppressed,or you with the oppressor.”
