‘Lucifer’ Season 2
Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) had multiple scenes with Lucifer (Tom Ellis), but she has yet to reunite with Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) in “Lucifer” Season 2. FOX

Tom Ellis and D.B Woodside just dropped some new information about the premiere episode of “Lucifer” Season 2.

While at the DC-All Access event, Ellis said that his character Lucifer Morningstar and Amenadiel (Woodside) will go on a quest to find their mom, Charlotte (Tricia Helfer), who just escaped from Hell. Lucifer and Amenadiel are both concerned that Charlotte will do something awful while she’s on earth that could harm herself and the innocent people residing in Los Angeles.

However, Woodside won’t only be concerned with his mom’s escape from Hell. He will also be heartbroken after Maze’s (Lesley-Ann Brandt) brief disappearance.

“At the beginning of Season 2, we’re gonna find him trying to figure out what his relationship is with Maze. I guess he’s gonna be experiencing some heartaches… being dumped,” he said.

Meanwhile, Brandt confirmed that her character will have more fight scenes in “Lucifer” Season 2. At present, the actress is training with a Filipino martial artist who is helping her perfect her stunts. Other than her physical scenes, Maze’s backstory with Charlotte will also be unveiled very early on in the season.

Helfer is also very excited to be part of the hit FOX series. “Obviously at the end of last season, it was found out that Mom had escaped Hell. So there’s a lot of concern in the beginning of the second season if she’s coming, what she’s gonna be there for, is she gonna be livid, what’s going on. I think we’re definitely going to surprise the fans,” she said.

In other news, “Lucifer” executive producer Joe Henderson spoke with TV Line to share some details about “Everything’s Coming Up Lucifer.” According to him, Amenadiel will be jealous of Lucifer. “Amenadiel always wants to do Dad’s bidding, yet he’s not the one who got the marching orders,” he said. A photo from FOX also showed the rift between Lucifer and Amenadiel who both want to impress their parents.

“Lucifer” Season 2 will premiere on FOX on Sept. 19 at 9 p.m. ET.
