"Argo," Ben Affleck's latest directorial effort, is fast becoming one of the fall's most anticipated films. The script, written by Chris Terrio, is based on the autobiography "The Master in Disguise" by Antonio Melendez as well as a 2007 Wired article by Joshua Bearman titled "Escape From Tehran: How the CIA Used a Fake Sci-Fi Flick to Rescue Americans From Iran.

The number of tickets sold during Hollywood's all-important summer season -- the first week in May through Labor Day weekend -- shrank to 532 million in 2012.
