Bo Peep (voiced by Annie Potts in "Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2") will be at the center of the plot for the upcoming "Toy Story 4." Disney/ Pixar

The “Toy Story” franchise is going “to infinity and beyond!” John Lasseter, the chief creative officer of Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, has revealed some new details about the plot for “Toy Story 4.”

Pixar studio president Jim Morris previously dished that the fourth installment would be a love story, and now Lasseter, who is directing the film, has unveiled who the plot will center around – Woody (Tom Hanks) and Bo Peep (Annie Potts)! Lasseter made the exciting announcement on CNBC Friday morning.

While the latest plot details are exciting, a major issue remains – where in the world is Bo Peep? “Toy Story” fans will remember some serious flirting between Woody and Bo Peep in the first film when Woody helped save her flock of sheep during play time. She played an important role in “Toy Story 2” when Woody went missing, but was left out of “Toy Story 3.” Viewers were led to believe that she was either sold during a yard sale or thrown out. So, what happened to Bo Peep and how will she be reincorporated into the movie franchise? That’s one mystery that will have to be addressed in the new film!

What “Toy Story” lovers do know is that the fourth movie will not continue where “Toy Story 3” left off. Morris told Disney Latino (via Huffington Post) that the third film, which was released in 2010, “completed a trilogy.”

“I think this movie is not part of [that] trilogy,” he revealed. “We are putting together a very nice story. It is not a continuation of the end of ‘Toy Story 3.’ Temporarily it is, but it will be a love story. It will be a romantic comedy. It will not make much focus on the interaction between the characters and children. I think it will be a very good movie.”

“Toy Story 4” will be released in theaters on June 16, 2017.
