Toyota Kirloskar Motors on Monday said that it has registered a marginal growth of 5.47 percent in sales at 6,359 units in December.

The carmaker registered sales of 38 percent in sales during the calendar year in the year 2010, compared to last year. It sold 74759 units in the calendar year 2010 against 54320 units in 2009.

We are very happy with the response we have received from our customers in 2010. This year has witnessed the most important launch in the history of Toyota in India, Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director-Marketing, TKM said in a statement.

The carmaker, which introduced its Etios sedan last month, said it has already despatched the first 400 units to its customers. The company aims to launch its Liva small car in April.

Toyota Motors manufactures various other models such as Corolla Altis, Innova and Fortuner in the country and sells imported vehicles such as Camry, Prado, Land Cruiser and Prius.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor's sales in December last year grew by 5.47 percent at 6,359 units. For 2010 calender year, it reported 37.63 percent jump in its sales at 74,759 units compared to 54,320 units in the previous year.
