Former President Donald Trump and his son, Donald Trump Jr., have joined the boxing world after signing a contract to provide commentary on a boxing event Saturday.

The Trumps are expected to provide commentary on a “gamecast” of an exhibition boxing card headlined by 58-year-old former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield and 44-year-old mixed martial artist and UFC heavyweight world champion Vitor Belfort.

The event, which will be held at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, will be available on pay-per-view for $49.99 on FITE.TV.

"I love great fighters and great fights. I look forward to seeing both this Saturday night and sharing my thoughts ringside. You won't want to miss this special event," Trump said in a press release.

The card was originally going to be held in Los Angeles. The event was also supposed to be headlined by Oscar de la Hoya, who later had to drop out after he tested positive for COVID-19 and was hospitalized.

"Wanted you to hear directly from me that despite being fully vaccinated, I have contracted Covid and am not going to be able to fight this weekend," De La Hoya said in an announcement.

“I am currently in the hospital getting treatment and am confident I will be back in the ring before the year is up. God bless everyone and stay safe,” he added.

Holyfield, who turns 59 in October, has not fought since 2011. The fight is expected to have eight two-minute rounds, according to KTLA.

The Trumps will also call the entire four-fight telecast, including Anderson Silva-Tito Ortiz and David Haye-Joe Fournier.

The former president has hosted and promoted several boxing fights over the years, most of which took place at the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Critics called out the timing of Trumps’ boxing commentary gig, which is scheduled to be held on the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

”This is what a former president of the United States - and lifelong New Yorker - has chosen to do on the 20th anniversary of 9/11,” Helen Kennedy, a former newspaperman for NY Daily News, wrote on Twitter.
