  • Fade's character design was revealed during the 2022 VCT Masters Reykjavik event
  • Her abilities are expected to be revealed by April 24
  • Fade's abilities revolve around manipulating darkness and applying debuffs to enemies

Riot has been leaving teasers on social media as well as in-game Easter eggs for “Valorant’s” upcoming agent, but recently, the developer revealed her to the world for the first time.

Fade is set to be “Valorant’s” newest agent under the Initiator role alongside Breach, KAY/O and Skye. She was revealed in the 2022 VCT Masters Reykjavik right before the match between DRX and Zeta Division, Dot Esports reported.

Although Fade’s ability kit hasn’t been revealed, there have been some leaks and rumors regarding what the new agent is able to do. “Valorant” leaker ValorLeaks previously shared on Twitter Fade’s alleged abilities, which are as follows:

C – Prowler: Equip and fire to send out a creature that seeks enemies and/or trails in a straight line. The creature can be steered by holding the fire button and moving the mouse.

Q – Seize: Equip and fire an orb that travels in the air for a short duration before dropping to the ground. Upon hitting the ground, the orb will tether all nearby enemies to the center after cooking for a short duration.

E – Haunt: Equip and fire an orb that travels in the air for a short duration before dropping to the ground. Upon hitting the ground, the orb will transform into a levitating eye that reveals enemies while also applying a Trail debuff, which gives away their positions to enemy players

X – Nightfall: Equip and fire a wave of dark mist that applies the Trail, Decay and Deafened debuffs to enemies.

If the leaked abilities are true, then Fade will be able to bring a lot of tactical tools to the table outside of the usual flash and concussion options. It’s worth noting that the leaks somewhat align with the Fade Easter eggs hidden in “Valorant,” which portray her as a mysterious figure with the power of shadows.

Fans are already comparing her to Skye and Reyna due to the Prowler and Haunt abilities. However, Fade’s kit seems to revolve more around playing mind games and gathering intel rather than straight-up breaching and dueling.

More information about Fade will be revealed on April 24 during the 2022 VCT Masters Reykjavik grand finals.
