KEY POINTS

  • "The Walking Dead" will return in February next year
  • Someone may die in the cave
  • Negan will play a big role

The war against the Whisperers has just gotten started in “The Walking Dead” Season 10. The show is set to return in February next year with yet another adventure of the heroes that may claim the lives of few more before the war ends.

A preview video of the next half of Season 10 shows the heroes struggling to find a way out of that cave full of zombies. The situation will give Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) a chance to speak their mind and bond together to fight for their future.

Meanwhile, the people trapped in the cave may get some help from the others. Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) will learn about his friends being trapped, thanks to their informant. They, however, will face some challenges of their own after Beta (Ryan Hurst) sneaks in on them at night to attack.

The heroes will be rescued from the cave eventually in “The Walking Dead” Season 10, but things are not looking good for one of the characters. The preview video shows Jerry (Cooper Andrews) screaming in pain as he is seemingly caught by the zombies in the cave while trying to escape.

Meanwhile, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) will start playing a more active role in the Whisperers. The preview video shows the character uncovering the spy in the camp for Alpha (Samantha Morton).

Negan was last seen offering his allegiance to Alpha. According to Screen Rant, this may only be a way for the character to deceive the Whisperers before unfolding a bigger plan.

In a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Angela Kang confirmed that they planned a “big” story for the character this time around. It remains to be seen what Negan has planned for the Whisperers.

“The Walking Dead” Season 10, episode 9 will air on Feb. 23, 2020.
