Glenn (Steven Yeun) watched the wall fall with Enid (Katelyn Nacon) in the Season 6 midseason finale of "The Walking Dead." A promo video for the new episodes reveals that he'll return to Alexandria to help fight the walkers. AMC

Happy New Year, indeed! The clock hasn’t even struck midnight yet but AMC has a special treat for devoted fans of “The Walking Dead.” The network released the first promo video for the Season 6 midseason premiere – and it is bloody awesome.

“I thought living behind these walls was possible,” Rick (Andrew Lincoln) voices in the trailer. “I was wrong.”

The clip of the upcoming new episodes starts where fans left off, with Rick attempting to lead a small group from Jessie’s (Alexandra Breckenridge) house into the walker-infested streets of Alexandria. Everyone is covered in walker guts to mask their smell, but the video hints that they won’t be able to make a quick getaway to safety. Rick and Michonne (Danai Gurira) can be seen fighting off the walkers side by side. But what about the others? Jessie, Carl (Chandler Riggs), Ron (Austin Abrams), Sam (Major Dodson) and Father Gabriel (Seth Gillian) aren’t featured after that.

Another new clip from the second half of Season 6 shows Glenn (Steven Yeun) with a gun within the walls of Alexandria. He was previously watching from afar with Enid (Katelyn Nacon) when the wall fell, but appears ready to fight to save Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and the his unborn baby. However, did he make a mistake returning? Another quick snippet shows Maggie screaming for her husband. It’s unclear if she’s yelling because he’s in danger – or if she is.

Meanwhile, viewers also rehash Daryl (Norman Reedus), Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Sasha’s (Sonequa Martin-Green) sticky situation. A video following the midseason finale revealed that the trio had the misfortune of running into a new group of survivors who wanted their weapons, supplies and handy-dandy truck.

“You’re property now belongs to Negan,” one of the mysterious new men says in the video. Fans previously watched that confrontation, but new clips show the group actually disarming Daryl and the leader cocking his gun.

AMC is currently airing a marathon of “Walking Dead” and “Fear the Walking Dead” episodes. Season 6 of the beloved zombie series will return with new episodes on Sunday, Feb. 14.
