Nolan Gould and Ariel Winter play the role of siblings in ABC’s “Modern Family.” In real life, they also have a close relationship with each other.

While speaking with People, Gould said that Winter is her own person and is also very confident in her own skin.

“Here’s the thing, because a lot of people always come up to me and they’re like, ‘Does Ariel come to you for advice or does she come seek solace?’ I’m like, ‘She doesn’t need me!’ In that sense, she knows exactly who she is, and she’s very passionate about it. I don’t think there’s anything anybody could say that could make her second guess herself in anyway,” he said.

In a previous interview with the same publication, Winter herself said that she’s confident about who she is so she is no longer troubled by the haters. “My thing is that I feel good about myself, and that’s what’s important,” she said.

Gould also acknowledged the fact that a lot of people still criticize Winter especially over the way she dresses. But despite what others might think and say, the teen actor supports his co-star.

Meanwhile, Gould, who plays the role of Luke Dunphy, also dished on what it’s like growing up in front of the camera. Winter experienced the same thing as a child actress. And both of them are glad to have grown up surrounded by “good people.”

“This is like the number one thing I tell people who want to get into acting. If you don’t have a support system, a life outside of acting, then when acting falls, because it inevitably does – it rises and falls – sometimes it will be really hot for a moment then you won’t be. I tell people to have a backup, basically,” he said.

Lucky for Gould, he still has two entire seasons to appear in episodes of “Modern Family.” The series was renewed earlier this year until 2019. It also stars Ty Burrell as Luke’s dad, Phil, Julie Bowen as his mom, Claire, Sarah Hyland as Luke’s eldest sister, Hayley and more.
