Prince Harry opened up about how Camilla Parker Bowles is as a stepmom to him and Prince William.

On Wednesday, the Duchess of Cornwall celebrated her 72nd birthday. A number blamed Camilla for Princess Diana’s suffering and one netizen even called her a “homewrecker.”

For the same reason, many are wondering how’s her relationship with Princess Diana’s sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. The Duke of Sussex already spoke out what it’s like to have Camilla as a stepmom and here’s what he said.

“To be honest, she’s always been very close to me and William,” Prince Harry said.

“She’s not a wicked stepmother. Look at the position she’s coming into. Don’t feel sorry for me and William, feel sorry for her.”

Meghan Markle’s husband went on and described Camilla as a “wonderful woman” who makes their father very, very happy. He added that he and his brother, Prince William, “love her to bits.”

According to royal author Angela Levin, Prince Harry has already accepted the fact that Camilla has always been part of his father’s life. Over time, he has grown to like her.

Prince William and Kate Middleton also showed their fondness of the Duchess of Cornwall by greeting her a “very Happy Birthday” on Twitter.

Prince Charles and Camilla dated even before they married their first spouses Princess Diana and Andrew Parker Bowles, respectively. However, they didn’t marry each other because the royal family disapproved of Camilla for the future king due to her being an “experienced” woman. The royals were reportedly keen on giving the heir a virgin wife.

However, the Prince of Wales never got over his love for Camilla. Many believed that even if he married Princess Diana, he had always loved Camilla.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall faced public scrutiny following Princess Diana’s death as the People’s Princess blamed their affair for her failed marriage. But over time, the public started to warm up to them.

Many believed that Prince Charles is faithful to Camilla because he has always loved her and there’s no one else he wants to be with but her.
