Queen Elizabeth II wanted Prince William and Prince Harry to end their rumored feud.

For months there have been rumors claiming that the Duke of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex have a falling -out. According to Dan Wootton of The Sun, the Queen is urging Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s son to sort out their issues privately while she remains supportive to both princes.

“The respect and admiration for the Queen comes because she rises above these sorts of issues. But the Queen is close to all her grandchildren. Family ties are strong,” a royal insider said.

The insider went on and shared that it was such a shame that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex didn’t join the Queen in Balmoral last summer because it would have been the perfect time to talk about the matter. According to previous reports, Markle declined the invitation because their son Archie was still too young to travel. However, the source believed that there was no reason for one to say “no” to such invite.

“It’s a real shame that Harry and Meghan didn’t go to Balmoral. That’s where the family talk about these things. There has also been at least one occasion when Charles invited Meghan to an event, she accepted and then didn’t turn up,” the insider said.

“You can’t do that. When the Royal Family send you an invitation you go, short of dying. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t be there.”

The Queen is very keen on having a united family. In fact, among the reasons she is very fond of Kate Middleton is due to the duchess’ close relationship to her family. Middleton shares a close bond with her parents Carole and Michael Middleton. She is also extremely close to her sister Pippa and brother James.

According to royal biographer Andrew Morton, Middleton won Prince William and the royal family’s favor due to her family and home. Middleton’s family was very steady and very normal. It came to a point when Prince William began calling Middleton’s father “dad,” which had a profound appeal to the second in line to the throne who was a product of an unhappy marriage.
