Chessies have been waiting a long time to find out when exactly Hallmark Channel’s “Chesapeake Shores” will return with Season 4, but the wait is finally over!

The Hallmark drama, which follows the lives and loves of the O’Brien family, comes back on Aug. 25 at 8 p.m. EDT.

The title, synopsis and trailer for the premiere episode have not yet been released, but with less than two months to go until the new season starts, those details should be on their way soon. In the meantime, prepare to see Abby (Meghan Ory), Trace (Jesse Metcalfe) and the rest of the gang again by reminding yourself how the “Chesapeake Shores” Season 3 finale ended.

Here’s a little recap.

Relationships between family members and between romantic partners had been tested all season, and Season 3, episode 10, titled “Before a Following Sea,” saw the culmination of those trials and tribulations.

During the October 2018 episode, Trace told Abby he planned to go on a European tour but that their relationship could withstand the distance. Though Abby loves him, she realized that love wasn’t enough and that it was time for them to break up because they were clearly in two very different places in their lives, and she had both herself and her kids to think about.

The Season 3 finale wasn’t all about departures and sadness, though.

Jess (Laci J Mailey) and David (Carlo Marks) received a surprising offer from his parents: they offered to buy them a bed and breakfast to run in Tanglewood if they wanted.

Meanwhile, after Kevin (Brendan Penny) visited Sarah (Jessica Sipos) in Philadelphia to tell her he applied for a paramedic job there, too, she surprised him right back by later showing up in Chesapeake Shores to announce she was moving back there, instead. She was so touched by his willingness to move to be with her that she decided to do just that for him.

Will Trace end up leaving his tour to try to make things work with Abby? Is marriage in the future for Kevin and Sarah? What’s to come for Jess and David? What about the rest of the O’Brien clan?

While you wait for Season 4 to start on Aug. 25 to give you some answers, you can rewatch the last season of “Chesapeake Shores” on Hallmark’s streaming service, Hallmark Movies Now, with a new Season 3 episode added every Friday throughout July.

Plus, don’t forget that a “Chesapeake Shores” spinoff movie, about the O’Brien sisters and their trip to Rome, is also on the horizon. That’s a lot for Chessies to look forward to!
