Opera singer Jackie Evancho saw sales of her album “Someday at Christmas” skyrocket after it was announced that she will be performing at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony, Trump tweeted on Wednesday, in what appeared to be an attempt to take credit for the feat.

The 16-year-old classical singer finished second on the fifth season of “America’s Got Talent” and has previously performed for President Barack Obama during the National Christmas Tree Lighting. She also performed for Trump at a Mar-a-Lago event six years ago.

In November, Trump’s team announced Evancho would sing the national anthem at the president-elect’s Jan. 20 inauguration ceremony.

“I have recently been asked by the President-elect to perform the National Anthem for the swearing-in ceremony at the inauguration,” Evancho said earlier this month during an interview on Today. “I’m so excited. It’s going to be awesome.”

According to TMZ, the sales of Evancho’s most recent studio album “Someday at Christmas” quadrupled last month, bringing the album to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Classical Albums chart. Billboard, however, carried out a deeper analysis of Evancho’s record sales.

“Someday at Christmas” — which released on Oct. 28 — sold 6,000 copies in the chart week ending Dec. 15, according to Nielsen Music, but after the inauguration announcement, sales bumped up to 11,000 copies being sold in the week ending Dec. 22. In the next week, sales were back to 8,000 copies sold.

There could be a number of explanations for this, not just Trump’s star appeal. For example, most holiday albums receive a sales spike in the chart weeks approaching Christmas, Billboard reported. Also, Evancho’s performance on the “America’s Got Talent” holiday special that aired on NBC on Dec. 19 and re-aired on Dec. 29 possibly helped the album’s sales.

Evancho’s album is currently at No. 134, down 41 spots from the previous week on the Top 200 albums chart. Also, “Someday at Christmas” peaked at No. 93 on the Top 200, which is lower than the rank at which her previous four albums peaked.
