‘Riverdale’
What will Betty’s (Lili Reinhart) relationship to her brother, Chic, be like in “Riverdale” Season 2? The CW

Betty Cooper’s (Lili Reinhart) older brother, Chic, will be introduced in the upcoming episodes of “Riverdale” Season 2.

According to TV Line, casting is already underway for the character. Chic is expected to recur midway through the season. In Season 1, Alice (Madchen Amick) confessed to her daughter, Betty, that she had a son when she was still in high school and decided to give him up for adoption.

Betty will get to know Chic in “Riverdale” Season 2, but it is still unclear whether or not they will have a peaceful relationship. It hasn’t also been confirmed if Chic will reunite with his biological mother to ask for financial support. But one thing is for sure, Chic’s arrival will send Betty into a tailspin.

Not only is Betty struggling with her alter ego or a darker version of herself – the same version who physically hurt herself while she was angry – but she also has other problems to deal with in relation to her and Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) relationship. Betty and Jughead will be separated next season since Jughead will go to Southside High and spend time with the Southside Serpents.

Meanwhile, Betty isn’t the only character who will be reunited with a family member. Her best friend, Veronica (Camila Mendes), will also be spending time with her dad, Hiram (Mark Consuelos). The doting dad only wants what’s best for Veronica and his wife, Hermione (Marisol Nichols), and he would do anything to make sure they are always protected.

Veronica’s ex-boyfriend, Nick St. Clair (Graham Phillips), will also be visiting her in town. The two were very close when Veronica was still in New York. Now that she is in Riverdale, Veronica has become a kinder, more loving individual, and she doesn’t want to have anything to do with someone from her past. After all, she is also in a relationship with Archie (KJ Apa).

Elsewhere, Archie will also be dealing with some family-related problems. He will be searching for the person who tried to kill his dad in the Season 1 finale.

“Riverdale” Season 2 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. EDT.
