Prince Harry was recently accused of lying by a royal expert.

On “Good Morning Britain,” some slammed the Duke of Sussex after he released a statement on why he decided to take a private jet during his vacation with Meghan Markle and Archie. “You can’t fly on private jets and then preach about climate change,” Piers Morgan said after watching Prince Harry give his statement.

Royal author Duncan Larcombe also criticized Prince Harry for trying to explain himself. “Never explain and never complain. He is trying to explain himself out of it,” he said.

“This year I would guess, 40 percent of his time he has been flying privately, so he’s lying. ‘Unique circumstances to ensure my family is safe!’ I’m not buying that,” Larcombe added.

But “Good Morning Britain” host Susanna Reid seemingly took Prince Harry’s side. She told Morgan and Larcombe that it is unfair to dismiss the Duke of Sussex’s claim about wanting to keep his family safe.

However, Morgan still maintained his stand and said that it wouldn’t take the royal couple more than two hours to fly to Amsterdam. As such, there’s no need to worry about their family.

And Larcombe replied that Prince William and Kate Middleton managed to take a commercial flight with their kids and they were photographed during their outing. The royal author said that there was no security risk at that time even though Prince William and Prince George are future Kings.

During the recent episode of “GMB,” some viewers shared their thoughts on the discussion. Some of them sided with Morgan and Larcombe, while others sided with Prince Harry.

In his statement, the Duke of Sussex said that nobody is perfect.

“I spend 99 percent of my life traveling the world by commercial. Occasionally there needs to be an opportunity based on unique circumstance to ensure that my family is safe. It is about balance, and if I have to do that [fly via private jet]… Then I will ensure, as I have done previously and I will continue to make sure that I do, to balance out that impact I have… I have always offset my CO2, ” Prince Harry said.
