Prince William and Prince Harry were very loving towards their mom, especially after Princess Diana and Prince Charles divorced.

While speaking with Mirror, Princess Diana’s former royal butler, Paul Burrell, also said that the Princess of Wales felt that she had to overcompensate after she separated from the future king. Since the late royal knew how difficult it was for Prince William and Prince Harry to know that their parents have called it quits, Princess Diana made sure to take her boys out regularly.

“She felt she had to over-compensate, so that’s why they would go to places like the Thorpe Park, Alton Towers, and Necker Island. It was upsetting for them to watch the fall out of their parents’ marriage and whenever Diana got upset, they would push notes under her door saying, ‘It will be OK…’ Diana smothered them with love and they always slept in her room during that time and not the nursery,” Burrell said.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Prince Harry did a very naughty thing during one of their trips to Thorpe Park. In the 2014 documentary “Harry at 30,” former protection officer Ken Wharfe said that the royal siblings once drenched him using two water pistols.

“The one thing about Thorpe Park that I remember and I could kill him for it was the manager gave William and Harry these two water pistols. They said, ‘Let’s fill them with water and get the policemen,’ and I said, ‘No, you are not doing that,’” Wharfe said.

But Prince William and Prince Harry still thought that it was a good idea to get their mom’s protection officers wet, Wharfe included. He said that he arrived at Kensington Palace completely drenched.

The incident took place in 1994, but Princess Diana also took Prince William and Prince Harry to Thorpe Parke during the Easter holidays in 1991, 1992, and 1993. In 1992, Princess Diana and Prince Charles separated.
