Princess Diana would’ve been wary of Kate Middleton’s mom, Carole Middleton, and would’ve sized her up during their first meeting, according to a royal expert.

While speaking with Daily Mail, royal commentator Ingrid Seward also said that the Princess of Wales would’ve been very fond of Kate Middleton because she would recognize how good the Duchess of Cambridge is for Prince William.

“I think she would have been very fond of Kate because Kate does everything right and looks gorgeous. And I think she would have recognized how good Kate is for William because William is emotional and difficult,” she said.

And if only she were still alive to meet her grandchildren, Seward said that Princess Diana would have also been a fantastic grandma. The late royal would have been also known as the Goddess Grandmother.

Princess Diana passed away on Aug. 31, 1997, following a fatal car crash in Paris. Years later, Prince William and Prince Harry opened up about their late mother and said that they also wonder what Princess Diana would be doing if she was still with them at the moment.

“Every day, I know I do and I’m sure William does as well, whatever we do, wherever we and whoever we’re with, I particularly always wonder what she’d think, what she’d be doing if she was with us now. If she’d be sitting here having a laugh, whether she’d be in the background sticking her tongue out or whether she’d be playing football with the children,” Prince Harry told ITV.

The Duke of Sussex also said that the thought of what Princess Diana would be doing is what keeps him and his brother going every single day. Prince Harry added that it’s refreshing because he and his older brother both have their own opinions of what Princess Diana would’ve been like. But they would both agree in describing her as “mad.”

And in 2016, Prince William also said that he would’ve loved to see Princess Diana meet his wife.
