Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s marriage last?

One netizen took to Quora and asked if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s marriage will be a long-term one. The question received mixed reactions from royal fans, but the majority said that they don’t believe Prince Harry and Markle’s marriage will last.

“I find it difficult to believe that their marriage will last,” Luisa Smith, a retired nurse, wrote.

According to her, she couldn’t get the feeling that their love is genuine especially from Markle’s perspective. For her, Markle had no idea what she has gotten herself into and worse than that, she doesn’t want to know. Also, she felt that the former “Suits” star has done nothing to endear herself to the British people.

“I do not believe that this marriage is going to last,” Layla Wilson added.

Wilson provided several reasons and one of them is the monarchy being traditional and its function is to serve the people. According to her, Markle has no connection with any of the said function because she’s a freethinking, outspoken Californian woman.

She added that the Duchess of Sussex has also proven that she does not understand or respect the royal family. First, she agreed to grace Vanity Fair’s front page cover before her royal wedding to Prince Harry. She felt that when the “infatuated period is over,” Markle will dump Prince Harry and she will go back to the U.S.

Clara Bell, an employment law advisor, also believed that Prince Harry and Markle’s marriage won’t last long on paper. She said, statistically, couples with divorced parents are likely to divorce, too. In addition, if it is the second marriage, which is the case with Markle, the divorce is also more likely.

Anchita Rai also said that she has doubts about Prince Harry and Markle’s marriage lasting. According to her, the couple has lifestyle differences and their relationship was too rushed compared to Prince William and Kate Middleton who dated for almost a decade before tying the knot.

In another thread, one netizen asked if Prince Harry would regret marrying Markle. Some said “no” because Prince Harry knew who he was marrying. Meanwhile, others said that it could be the other way around. Markle might regret her decision of marrying Prince Harry because she lost her freedom and individuality after doing so.
