In his soon-to-be-released memoir, "Will", Will Smith, 53, describes falling in love with Stockard Channing, 77, his co-star in “Six Degrees of Separation.”

He first talked about his experience with Esquire in 2015. At the time of filming, he was married to Sharee Zampinio, and they had a new baby, Trey, but Smith claims that his relationship with Channing remained professional, as they had an age difference at the time of filming, with the “Grease” alum almost 50 at the time while Smith was in his mid-20s.

"After the film wrapped, Sheree and Trey and I moved back to L.A," the actor and singer said in an excerpt revealed to People. "Our marriage was off to a rocky start. I found myself desperately yearning to see and speak to Stockard."

Smith blames the experience of falling in love with Channing on method acting. Actors use the method to match the personality and behavior of their characters so well that they essentially become them.

“[Zampinio] married a guy named Will Smith and now she was living with a guy named Paul Poitier," the star of “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” reveals. Paul Poitier is the character Smith plays In “Six Degrees of Separation.”

When Channing first heard the news in 2015, she told Page Six that she was flattered.

“That's a wonderful thing . . . I adored him from the first time I laid eyes on him because I thought he was genuinely sweet. I felt very protective of him because it was his first big job. It's amazing for me to hear that he felt that way, I'm delighted,” she revealed.

Smith is currently married to Jada Pinkett Smith, 50, and they have two kids, Jaden, 23, and Willow, 21. The couple opened up about their relationship troubles more recently and said that they are no longer monogamous.
