A man in New York City allegedly forced a woman out of a Queens subway station and attempted to sexually assault her inside a nearby building lobby.

The unidentified woman managed to escape without any physical harm, police said. The New York Police Department (NYPD) released surveillance footage of the suspect Tuesday.

The incident unfolded inside the Main Street station in Flushing on Thursday morning, the New York Post reported. The suspect grabbed the 22-year-old woman by her arm inside the subway station and forced her to walk up the stairs, police said. After taking her out of the station, the suspect made the victim walk with him down Main Street and toward Kissena Boulevard.

The man then took the woman into a seven-story building and restrained her in the lobby, the NYPD said.

"The individual forcibly restrained the victim and exposed his penis," NYPD Crime Stoppers wrote on Twitter as they shared a video of the suspect walking.

Police said the victim successfully managed to break free from the suspect's clutches and ran away. She did not sustain any physical injuries and refused medical attention at the scene, NBC New York reported.

The suspect, captured in the surveillance footage, fled the scene after the woman ran off. He remains on the loose.

NYPD described the suspect as a man who is roughly 30 years old. He has a height of around 5 feet, 7 inches and weighs around 160 pounds. The medium-built man has long black hair, brown eyes and facial hair, police added.

The suspect was last spotted wearing a dark-colored T-shirt with "Aeropostale New York" written on the front, dark-colored pants and black shoes. He was carrying a white bag and also wore a blue baseball hat with a white facemask.

In an unrelated incident, a homeless man was arrested in December for attempting to rape a woman inside a New York City subway station.

The accused man, 38-year-old Tyrone Brown, was on the stairs when the victim was leaving the Queens subway station. Brown allegedly attacked the 30-year-old woman, pulled her tights down and tried to rape her, cops said. He fled the scene when a stranger walked by. He was arrested a couple of days after the incident.
