Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey will possess archery skills in the film “X-Men: Apocalypse,” as indicated by a photograph of the actress that director Bryan Singer recently posted on Instagram. In the photo, Singer can be seen instructing Turner on how to aim as he holds a bow and arrow in his hand, and Turner can be seen keenly looking at Singer.

The picture was captioned, “Teaching young #JeanGrey @sophiet what I learned in summer camp. #Xmen #XmenApocalypse.”

In the comic books underlying the movie series, Grey is born with telekinetic and telepathic powers, which means in her case she can alter memories and read minds. She is a caring and nurturing figure, and her powers first manifested when she sees a childhood friend getting hit by a car. She is an omega-level mutant who frequently takes the guise of Phoenix Force.

It has yet not revealed whether Grey will have same abilities in the film to be released next year.

“Famke Janssen’s portrayed Jean so well, so beautifully ... although I’m ‘young her,’ it’s nice to have my own take on it as well and interpret this character, this action superhero, the way that I kind of want to,” Turner told Comic Book Resources about her character.

The actress has also reportedly done plenty of research for the role. “I mean, every ‘X-Men’ movie that’s ever been released, yeah, and, like TV ‘X-Men’ stuff, I’ve seen it all,” she said.

Along with Turner, “X-Men: Apocalypse” will star James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Oscar Isaac, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, Lucas Till, Ben Hardy, Lana Condor and Olivia Munn. The film is being shot in Montreal, and Singer is directing it from a screenplay by Simon Kinberg. Dan Harris and Michal Dougherty developed the story with Singer and Kinberg.

The movie is also set to feature some interesting visual effects. Singer recently shared a Quicksilver scene through his Instagram account: It showed the cast doing a slow-motion scene reminiscent of “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

“X-Men: Apocalypse” hits theaters May 27, 2016.
