Victoria on "Young and the Restless"
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) defends her decision to fire Cane (Daniel Goddard, not pictured) on the July 10, 2017 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” CBS

He lied for weeks about whether or not he had slept with Juliet before being forced to come clean with the truth. Now, after firing Cane for his deceit, Victoria will defend her decision to let him go when Lily comes to the office to potentially question the move on the Monday, July 10 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Cane (Daniel Goddard) swore to Victoria (Amelia Heinle) that Juliet’s (Laur Allen) sexual harassment claims were bogus, and while he didn’t actually coerce her into sex before getting her a job at Brash and Sassy, he did sleep with her and get her pregnant on the CBS soap. When he realized he could no longer hide the truth, Victoria was forced to settle the lawsuit instead of fight it, which cost Brash & Sassy a large amount of money. As a result, she then fired him from the company for his dishonesty.

Now though, after he went home to tell Lily (Christel Khalil) that things have now gotten worse for them because of his indiscretion, his wife will head over to the office for herself to see if Victoria feels it was the right decision to make.

“I’m sorry that it had to go down that way, but Cane left me no choice,” Victoria says in a preview clip.

Shockingly, Lily will agree, because she is also extremely angry with Cane since he lied to her as well, swearing he hadn’t cheated on her when he really did. Instead, she will inquire about her own job as a model with the company, and Victoria will assure her that her employment isn’t affected by her husband’s poor decision making and dishonest behaviors.

Meanwhile, back home, Cane will be forced to also come clean to his and Lily’s kids about what happened with his job, especially since Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) had hoped to get an internship at the company over the summer. However, to make sure they don’t become aware of what’s really going on, he won’t tell her or Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) the actual reason behind his being fired.

“Victoria had to let me go,” he says in the clip.

“Wait, she fired you?” Mattie asks.

Though Cane won’t tell his kids the real reason he was fired, it may not take long for them to discover the actual truth. They already knew about the sexual harassment lawsuit and that it had been settled. Now, learning that their father was fired from the company right after will make it easier to put the pieces together as to why exactly the case was suddenly settled and his employment status changed.

If Cane’s kids realize the truth that he had in fact cheated on their mother, and possibly got Juliet pregnant (pending the results of the paternity test to prove if it is his kid), it could only further destroy things for his family. His marriage has been hanging on a thread as is because of his cheating and lying about it, but he’s still had his unsuspecting kids on his side throughout the ordeal. If they also turn on him and learn the truth, Cane may have absolutely nothing left.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
