Young and the Restless
Nick (Joshua Morrow) questions Phyllis’ (Gina Tognoni, not pictured) motives on the Jan. 22, 2019 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” Sonja Flemming/CBS

He’s been desperate to figure out who was working to frame his father for JT’s murder ever since learning the truth about who really killed him. Now, as he continues to look into the matter, Nick will begin to question whether or not Phyllis has a role in the major setup on the Tuesday, Jan. 22 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Nick (Joshua Morrow) finally learned the truth about Nicki (Melody Thomas Scott) being the one who killed JT (Thad Luckinbill), and he also knows that Victoria (Amelia Heinle) helped her cover it up on the CBS soap. He’s unaware of the roles Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Sharon (Sharon Case) had in the coverup as well, but knowing what he does has made him determined not only to protect the women in his family but get his father, Victor (Eric Braeden) out of jail. He’s been there after being arrested as the suspected murder due to a large amount of evidence that was planted against him, and Nick wants to get him freed because for once, he is actually innocent.

However, as his investigation continues, he will begin to realize that everyone believes Phyllis might have had something to do with the setup because of her hatred for Victor and everything he did to her with Marco a few years ago. Now, as he keeps searching for answers, he will begin to suspect his girlfriend might be up to no good.

“Nick questions Phyllis’ motives,” spoilers reveal.

Nick will receive warnings from a few people about Phyllis’ thoughts on the matter, and while being told that she isn’t happy he hired Michael (Christian LeBlanc) to free Victor is nothing new, he may begin to suspect there’s more to it after also hearing from Jack (Peter Bergmann) and Sharon as well. Sharon likely won’t tell him that Phyllis tried to set up an alliance with her against the Newmans directly, but could hint that he shouldn’t blindly trust that she has his best interests at heart.

Now, as he tries to not only help his family but keep his relationship from floundering once again, Nick will find himself torn on what, and who, he believes in.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
