His mother’s life hangs in the balance after a hit-and-run accident, and now, with the news that she could die, Nick will start to worry his loved ones with how he reacts on the Friday, Dec. 21 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Nick (Joshua Morrow) already warned Rey (Jordi Villasousa) that he wouldn’t hesitate to make the person who hit Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) with their car and left the scene pay for their crime on the CBS soap, Now, after Nate (Brooks Darnell) warns him that Nikki’s MS makes things even more complicated and could lead to her passing away following the accident, Nick will become even more infuriated, and his instinct to try and protect his family could lead to concern.

“Nick swears he’ll protect his family,” spoilers for “Y&R” tease.

His reaction could cause his loved ones to worry even more because everyone knows that Nick can be pushed too far when he sets his mind to something. However, it would be even more concerning if any of them knew that one of their own was actually responsible—Victoria's (Amelia Heinle) son, Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu).

Reed is particularly worried about the truth getting out, and is devastated that he might be the reason his grandmother could die. However, he is also not the only one who should be worried.

Nick will likely be worried about his family because of the fact that his mother may be dying—but his father is still nowhere to be seen. His anger could once again be directed towards Victor (Eric Braden)--especially if he doesn’t make it home on time.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
