14-Year-Old Mocked By Father Due To Skin Condition Bludgeons Parents To Death

A teen boy was arrested in India for murdering his father while he was asleep and accidentally killing his mother in the process, police have said.

Police nabbed a 14-year-old boy from Bengaluru, a city in the southern Indian state of Karnataka, for allegedly killing his 41-year-old father, Hanumantraya, and 34-year-old mother, Honamma, in the wee hours of Thursday.

The victims were found dead inside a washroom of the office where they were staying. Police detained the couple’s youngest son on charges of murder after he reportedly confessed to the crime, reported Times of India.

Hanumantraya worked as a watchman at a statistical office in the city while his wife Honamma worked as a housekeeper in the same office. The couple created a makeshift house inside the office premises and lived there with their two sons, aged 14 and 15. They also had a daughter who was married off.

The investigators found out that the 14-year-old boy, who has not been named, had killed his father by dropping a boulder on this head. The boy's mother, who was sleeping next to the father, also got injured in the process and died, Times Now News reported.

The accused boy was reportedly upset with his father for harassing him and his brother repeatedly because of a skin disorder that they both had. The father cursed at, ridiculed and criticized the siblings who had a skin condition that made them look like they had burn injuries on their legs, the boy told the officers.

The incident came to light after the couple's elder son noticed them missing and approached the police to file a report Thursday evening.

"We were informed that the couple used to sleep inside the office. So, we decided to have a look there before registering a case. We found their bodies inside the washroom. It was clear that they were murdered in the office passage, where they slept and their bodies were later dragged to the washroom," a police officer said as per Times of India.

In a similar incident last month, a teen girl and her boyfriend were taken into custody in Las Vegas for allegedly murdering the girl's 45-year-old father. Police arrested the suspects after they discovered the burned body of Daniel Halseth. The 16-year-old girl and her 18-year-old boyfriend now face a murder charge and are expected to be tried as adults.
