Either one of the biggest “Fifty Shades of Grey” casting rumors regarding Christian Grey has dropped, or Robert Pattinson is just pulling everyone’s leg.

In a recent interview with MSN via Books and Review, the handsome “Twilight” actor said he was going to play Christian Grey in the film adaptation of E.L. James’ best-selling series “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Ever since it was announced that E.L. James' kink novel was going to become a Hollywood flick, Pattinson has been asked countless questions about the books and whether he was going to play the sex-crazed title character.

E.L. James says she was inspired by “Twilight” and the relationship between Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen, Pattinson’s character. As a result, many fans feel that he is the rightful actor to be chosen to portray the Red Room of Pain master.

Probably against advise from his publicist, the “Twilight” actor told reportedly MSN, “I am playing the part.

Don’t get too excited just yet, ladies; Pattinson reportedly burst into laughter after saying the one thing many are longing to hear.

“I also wrote the book too.”

So it’s clear that the typically impassive actor was feeling a little more light-hearted than usual and figured he might as well joke around.

Kelly Marcel has been announced as the screenwriter of the movie, which is tentaviely supposed to hit theaters in 2014.

Since casting is so far away the constant speculation as to who will play to coveted role of Christian Grey has become tiresome for author E.L James and fan favorites like Robert Pattinson.

While some Hollywood stars remain quiet about the movie, “True Blood’s” Alexander Skarsgård recently volunteerd that he could portray the twisted billionaire.
