A 6-month-old baby suffered brain hemorrhage after allegedly being slapped hard in the head at his nursery school in Shawnee, Kansas. According to local reports, Glen Braun had a brain bleeding and a painful injury to his face following the alleged incident.

The child started vomiting when the parents arrived at the nursery to pick him up. The parents said their baby was fine when they dropped him off last Thursday.

"As soon as I started holding him, he vomited all over me," the child's father, identified as Brett Braun, told local media WDAF. He claimed medics had found "signs of abuse," after they took the child to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. "The head CT scan showed that he had a brain bleed."

The child's mother, Sarah, said she saw red marks, which looked like a handprint on the infant's head. The mother said she confronted the daycare owner about the marks on her son’s head and face. The daycare worker told her the infant might have been injured by another child.

The case is being investigated by the police as a battery with personal weapons, indicating the child was hit with hands or feet, local media reports said.

On Monday, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment ordered an emergency suspension of the home daycare's license. Authorities have not released the name of the daycare.

No one answered the door when FOX4 went by to talk to the daycare owner.

“I don't really know what to say. We did all the proper steps,” Brett said. “We went on the state website. We interviewed her (daycare owner). We did everything we should. I don't know the right answer.”

The owner of the home daycare has not been charged with a crime as of Friday. Police say they expect to present their evidence to the Johnson County District Attorney soon.
