A shark knocked a boy off his surfboard while he was surfing with his father at New Smyrna Beach, Florida, on Saturday.

The boy, identified as seven-year-old Chandler Moore, had been surfing since he was four years old. He was visiting the beach with his family for some post-Thanksgiving fun when the incident took place.

The boy's dad, 40-year-old Shaun Moore, said it was a "picture perfect" day for surfing. Shaun gave Chandler a push on the board after spotting a wave. As Chandler stood and balanced himself on the board, he was knocked down when the shark hit his board.

The incident was recorded by the GoPro camera that was attached to Chandler's surfboard.

"I thought the thing that hit me was a fish,” Chandler said. "When we looked back I saw it was actually a shark, I was like, 'Oh my gosh’,” he added.

However, they later realized that what Chandler encountered was a small blacktip shark.

Chandler was not injured or bitten during the encounter and he said he would “totally” go surfing despite the terribly close call he had with the shark.
