“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 2 will return Tuesday after a three month hiatus, and the action will start right away. In sneak peek videos for the midseason premiere, Coulson (Clark Gregg) wants revenge on Hydra for Triplett’s (BJ Britt) death, and he thinks trading Bakshi (Simon Kassianides) is the best way to do it. However, the gang can’t focus on strategy for long once Skye’s powers start acting up.

Sneak Peek No. 1

In the first sneak peek, Skye (Chloe Bennet) is in a containment cell and the S.H.I.E.L.D. team is having a meeting right outside of the cell to keep her involved. Coulson explains that he wants to trade Bakshi to the U.S. government while Hydra is leaderless. He knows that they have limited time, but the team doesn’t want to follow his plan.

“It puts us out on a limb,” Hunter (Nick Blood) says.

“With a chance to deliver a crushing blow to those responsible for Tripp’s death,” Coulson says. “I’ll take it.”

Mack (Henry Simmons) isn’t thrilled with Coulson’s use of the word responsible, but he plans to keep his thoughts to himself. However, he can’t keep quiet once May (Ming-Na Wen) claims that Hydra “forced our hand."

Mack doesn’t think Hydra is to blame for Triplett’s death, after all, they weren’t supposed to be down in the city to begin with. “I’m saying that there wouldn’t have been anything to take if you and Skye hadn’t been obsessed with the alien messages in your damn head,” Mack says.

Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki) tries to calm the tension, but Coulson remains angry. “I shouldn’t have to ask any of you to save one of our own,” Coulson says.

“You never ask!” Mack yells. “You give your orders, no matter how cracked out they are.”

As the yelling continues, Skye’s monitors start beeping and flashing red. Then the room starts shaking. She is starting another earthquake.

Sneak Peek No. 2

In the episode 11 video, Coulson seems to want to stick to his plan, regardless of criticism from his team. He and May enter his cell with a few guards and General Glenn Talbot (Adrian Pasdar) on a video call on a tablet.

“I’ll trade him to you to add to your collection,” Coulson explains. “All I ask is your assistance in handling the—”

“Remaining Hydra forces,” Talbot says. “I understand the idea, Coulson, and in this case, I’m not against it.”

May drives Coulson and Bakshi to the trade, but she reveals that she is concerned about the fact that they’re giving Bakshi to the government. “It’s not Talbot,” May explains. “But around him, there are security leaks everywhere. With Whitehall dead, Bakshi may be even more valuable.”

Still May understands that they need to keep Talbot happy. “I know. Without him, we’ll never get a chance to get the upper—”

May is cut off by a truck ramming into the driver’s side of the car.
