At $99 a year, or $10.99 a month, the cost of Amazon Prime, might not seem worth it for free two-day shipping on millions of items, so you need to make sure you're getting your money's worth. A Prime membership comes with so many more perks than quick and cheap item delivery. If you're not using all of these Prime inclusive services, you're not getting the most out of your membership.

You can sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime that lasts 30 days if you want to try the service but aren’t sure about paying for it. If you’re student, you can get Amazon prime for six whole months just by signing up with your student email.

An Amazon Prime membership gets you VIP access on the site, with perks like free shipping, access to sales, music and video streaming and more. So if you have a membership or are on a free trial, make sure you get the most out of your membership. You’d be surprised how much you have access to.

With Amazon Prime you get free shipping on all Prime items. If you’re worried the items you buy won’t be Prime eligible, think again, there are more than 50 million Prime items that you can get in just two days. This really comes in handy for last minute shopping. Some users in certain areas are also eligible for same-day delivery on certain products.

Access to sales

Members get access to Amazon Prime Day. A one-day event during which thousands of items on Amazon like laptops, phones, clothes, accessories and more, are heavily discounted. Items sell out fast and only Prime members get access. They also get early access to daily Amazon Lightning Deals. These are the daily deals the site offers, members get a 30-minute head start on all other shoppers.

Prime Video

Amazon introduced Prime Video to users that includes access to movies, TV shows and Amazon Originals. Members have access to all of this and can download and watch without later without a Wi-Fi connection. You can see what movies and shows you would have access to with a membership here.

Members can stream 2 million songs ad-free with Amazon Music. It has unlimited skips and offline playback for those who want to take it on the go and it links up with most devices. It’s different than Amazon Music Unlimited or the Music Unlimited Echo plan. Those will cost you a bit more.

Books, magazines and audiobooks are available for no extra cost on Prime Reading when you have a Prime membership. Plus you can access them on any device no problem just by downloading the Kindle app.

Audible Audio Series access

Prime members get access to original audio series from Audible and Prime exclusive audiobooks.

Unlimited Photo Storage

You never have to worry about your phone alerting you that your storage is full again. With unlimited photo storage you can save all the photos you want online. Photo storage is included with your Prime membership and can be shared with up to five family members or friends. It also has photo recognition features that help you find what you want faster.

Twitch Prime

Members get exclusive game discounts on new releases and can preorder video games with their Prime membership on Twitch Prime. They can also earn game credits and enjoy ad-free gaming and release-day delivery.

Earn money

Prime users can earn money for future purchases. By selecting no-rush shipping at checkout for items that aren’t needed ASAP users can earn discounts or money to spend on future purchases. Users with the Amazon Prime who also have the Visa Signature Prime Credit Card get 5 percent back at, 2 percent at restaurants, gas stations and drug stores and 1 percent on everything else, plus there are no foreign transaction fees.
