"American Horror Story" has released a second teaser trailer for the fourth installment, "Freak Show." Season 4 will premiere on Oct. 8. FX

FX wants “American Horror Story” fans to take a “lick” at Season 4, “Freak Show.” The hit mini-series released a second trailer over the weekend to get viewers pumped up for the upcoming fourth installment.

The brand new promo video, titled “Lick,” shows a man with a mustache licking a blue and white lollipop. However viewers will quickly notice that something is off – the man’s tongue is split in two and goes around the sides of the candy.

Tongue splitting is a body modification procedure that became popular in the late 90s. It’s also known as tongue bifurcation or tongue forking. The tongue is usually cut in center from the tip to the underside base. Different processes aid in healing the side of the tongue, such as cauterizing, stitching along the side and or the “tying off”/ “fishing line” method.

The “Lick” teaser trailer comes less than a week after “American Horror Story: Freak Show” released “Admit One,” the first video promoting Season 4. Like “Lick,” “Admit One” clocked in at less than 15 seconds. But instead of a man with a forked tongue, viewers got to see a deformed hand holding onto a ticket for the freak show. The hand is clawed, has long jagged nails, and, for lack of a better word, is “crusty.”

“American Horror Story” Season 4 is set in Jupiter, Florida in 1952. The new season will follow the “quiet, sleepy hamlet” that becomes home to a “troupe of curiosities.” Their arrival coincides with “the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike.”

“American Horror Story: Freak Show” will premiere on FX on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 10 p.m. EDT. Will you be watching? Tweet your thoughts to @AmandaTVScoop.
