Amy Winehouse's death on Saturday tragically ended her musical career.
The 27-year-old British singer and songwriter first tasted fame with her first album Frank, which brought her moderate success. But with her 2006 album Back to Black, Winehouse became a star, winning five Grammy Awards. But sometimes it seemed her struggles with drug and alcohol overshadowed her powerful voice that she often recorded in the musical genres of R&B, soul, and jazz.
Her passing sends Winehouse to the “Forever 27” club with other musical icons who died at that age. Those icons include Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Brian Jones. But not before her life was captured in pictures and videos.
