Andrew Garfield got candid about his rumored involvement in the upcoming "Spider-Man" movie.

Many were anticipating seeing the three actors — Garfield, Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland — in one "Spider-Man" film. Fans were convinced that it's possible in the multiverse concept of the upcoming movie.

The official trailer of "Spider-Man: No Way Home" fueled the rumor because it showed the return of Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus, who first appeared in Maguire's movie in 2004. However, Garfield recently quashed the rumor when he said that he was not involved in making the Holland starrer.

"I understand why people are freaking out about the concept of that because I’m a fan as well. You can’t help but imagine scenes and moments of 'Oh, my God, how f--king cool would it be if they did that,'" he told Variety.

"But it’s important for me to say on the record that this is not something I’m aware I am involved in. But I know I’m not going to be able to say anything that will convince anyone that I don’t know what’s happening. No matter what I say, I’m f--ked. It’s either going to be really disappointing for people or it’s going to be really exciting," he added.

It was not the first time Garfield addressed his rumored cameo in the movie. In an interview with MTV’s Josh Horowitz for the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast in May, he was asked about the same rumor. Just like his recent statement, he said he was not at all involved in the superhero movie.

"I can’t speak for anything else, but for myself. They might be doing something, but I ain’t got a call," he said at the time. But he admitted he was not ruling out a potential cameo.

"I don’t want to rule anything out. Maybe they are going to call me and say, 'Hey, people want this.' … maybe they are doing like a market research thing," he added.

Meanwhile, in the same interview with Variety, Garfield described his own stint as Spider-Man as "beautiful." He also mentioned how it paved the way for him to meet his then-girlfriend, Emma Stone.

"It was only beautiful. I got to meet Emma [Stone] and work with her and Sally Field," he said about the project. "I had karma with Amy Pascal, who was a mother figure, and we would fight, but ultimately, we loved each other on a deep level. We tried to meet as much in the middle as we could in terms of why I wanted to do this role, and what her needs were as the head of the studio."
