Ashito Aoi is a middle school student who resides in Ehime and loves football. He is the ace of a football club.

However, after losing the final tournament, he runs along the ocean and bumps into a man who happens to be a coach.

"Aoashi" anime follows the life of Ashito who meets Tatsuya Fukuda, the coach of a J-League team named Tokyo City Esperion FC.

Fukuda sees potential in Ashito and invites him to participate in Tokyo City Esperion FC’s tryouts in Tokyo. Fukuda believes he and his team can hone the future of Japanese football.

This is the story of a young boy from Ehime who moves to the big city of Tokyo and strives to change the face of football in Japan.

“Ashito Aoi is a middle schooler who lives in Ehime, and the ace of an unremarkable soccer club. The day that they lost the final tournament of middle school, Ashito runs along the ocean in frustration, before running into a man who had been watching his game. That man is Tatsuya Fukuda, the coach of the high-school-aged Youth team of a leading J-League team, Tokyo City Esperion FC,” read the official synopsis of "Aoashi" anime, as per Crunchyroll.

“After sensing immense potential in Ashito's still-unrefined skills, he describes his ambition. 'I want to build a team, and use it to take over the world. Our club isn't going to be a milestone for players who take on the world. Our club is going to be the world. And to make this happen, I'm going to need some 'aces' to train'. After hearing Fukuda's offer, Ashito decides to head to Tokyo and try out for his team,” the synopsis continued.

The cast of the anime includes Junya Enoki as Yuma Motoki, Wataru Kato as Martis Jun Asari, Tatsumaru Tachibana as Eisaku Otomo, Taku Yashiro as Keiji Togashi, Shun Horie as Kanpei Kuroda, Seiichiro Yamashita as Soichiro Tachibana, Kouki Ohsuzu as Ashito Aoi, and Kentaro Kumagai as Ryuichi Takeshima.

The anime is based on the original work by creator Yugo Kobayashi.

"Aoashi" Episode 1 is scheduled for release Saturday. Fans in the U.S. can watch the episode online on Crunchyroll. The episode will stream in Japanese with English subtitles.
