"Arrow" character Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) was seen standing in a wedding photo posted by the show's executive producer, teasing her marriage to Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell, not pictured) by the end of Season 4. The CW

Update: 12:59 p.m. EST – Executive producer Marc Guggenheim has posted a tweet clarifying that the photo in question is not from a dream sequence or alternate universe.

Original Story:

Season 4 of the CW’s “Arrow” has been a big one for the character of Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards). After suffering some of the greatest personal tragedies in the show’s history, a new teaser image hints that some good things are on the horizon for her, including a borderline miracle.

The midseason finale of Season 4 saw Felicity get shot and become paralyzed from the waist down. In addition, the same evening of her attack she got engaged to the series’ principal hero, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell). With a wedding approaching sooner rather than later, fans everywhere are wondering if her condition in the wheelchair is permanent. It seems that question was finally answered Tuesday night when “Arrow” executive producer Marc Guggenheim posted a photo to his Twitter account teasing the upcoming wedding.

Not only does the shot seemingly confirm that Oliver and Felicity will in fact tie the knot before the end of Season 4, but it appears to reveal that Felicity will be cured of her paralysis by then. If this shot can be trusted not to be a strange vision or dream sequence, it wouldn’t be altogether surprising for fans to see Felicity walking again. At the end of last week’s episode of “Arrow,” the character’s new friend, Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), showed up to her engagement party with a gift. It turns out the super-genius had been working on a device that would allow her to walk again. He said that, if all goes according to plan, she’ll be able to walk down the aisle on her big day.

What’s more interesting than the fact that Felicity is standing upright is the fact that the wedding is happening at all. As executive producer Wendy Mericle previously told TVLine, Oliver and Felicity’s relationship is ultimately doomed. In the much talked about flash-forward that’s been teasing the death of a yet unknown character by the end of Season 4, Felicity is in a limo with Oliver, but she isn’t willing to look at him and she is no longer wearing her ring.

"It literally said in the script, ‘NO RING,’ and I was like, ‘OK….’” Rickards told ComicBookResources. “Filming that scene, we knew virtually nothing about what it really was about. Everything’s going to make sense in the end, but at the same time, I found filming that eighth of a page to be very … I couldn’t stress myself out about it, but I found it difficult."

"Arrow" airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on the CW.
