Avani Gregg has issued an apology after receiving massive backlash for making a TikTok video on rapper Young Thug’s "Thief in the Night," which has a homophobic slur.

In the video, the TikToker can be seen dancing and lipsycing to the lyrics of the song. However, fans weren’t happy about Gregg mouthing a homophobic slur.

After facing backlash, the TikToker deleted the video and apologized to her fans.

"For this video, I’m sorry. I did not know the lyrics. I thought it said, ‘Hit like the night!’ I also did not know there was a d-slur, so thank you for informing me. I’m sorry again, and I took down the video. Once again sorry, I genuinely did not know," she tweeted Wednesday.

She also took to TikTok to apologize.

"Once again sorry, and thank you for informing me. I will not make this mistake again and will look up the lyrics before making videos to songs I do not know. Sorry again," she said.

Gregg recently hit out at people after one of her fans received death threats over a Twitter joke.

It all began after a fan called out to her for favoring some of her followers.

"Hi, so me and thousands of your fans are upset with you. It’s okay that you like her, but some times you don’t even pay attention to other fans. That makes us very sad and unmotivated. There are other people besides her," the fan tweeted. A while later, the fan tweeted about receiving death threats.

Following this, Gregg lashed out at her fans saying, "Y’all need to stop. If it’s getting out of hand, I’ll stop commenting, following and replying to you guys because honestly, I’ve had enough. Learn to love each other and be happy for each other." She also threatened to unfollow everyone on social media. Gregg currently has 25 million followers on TikTok and 13 million on Instagram.
