Jillian Rose Reed can’t wait for “Awkward” fans to see what’s in store for Season 5 of the hit MTV show. With a trailer full of dramatic moments, fans have only been able to speculate of the events to come. “Oh my gosh, so much!” the starlet teased about the upcoming season’s new twists.

At the IVY Film Innovator Awards, celebrity guest Reed walked the carpet in a trimmed hi-low dress before making her way to speak with International Business Times about the new season of her show. She confirmed that the majority of the cast “will be graduating high school.” “Well, hopefully all of us will be graduating high school!” she laughed.

“There’s a lot of senior year stuff,” Reed said. “We’re going to prom, the graduation. There’s going to be a lot of heartfelt high school moments.” But MTV won’t leave fans at the valedictorian speech. Reed says the show will also continue on for viewers to see what the characters will do after graduation.

But then, is that the end of “Awkward”? “Hopefully, not,” said the actress. “I know about as much as anybody else.” Motioning with her hands, she added, “Fingers crossed!”

Reed also hinted that she was jumping into more behind-the-scenes roles in her spare time. Although still at the financing stages, Reed said she’s fine tuning the comedic screenplay she hopes to produce. “Undecided if I will be acting in it or just staying behind the camera, but hopefully I’ll have more news on that soon!”

That’s not the only good news. Jonathan Bennett, of Aaron Samuels in “Mean Girls” fame, will join the “Awkward” cast as Ethan, a dashing college student Jenna (Ashley Richards) falls for in the summer after her freshman year. MTV has yet to confirm that Ethan and Jenna will be more than just a summer love.

But in the Season 5 trailer, it looks like Jillian Rose Reed’s character,Tamara Kaplan, is in for a romantic surprise as well:

“Awkward” Season 5 premieres on Aug. 31 at 9 p.m. EDT on MTV.
