ABC is known for ramping up excitement for each “The Bachelor” finale by saying it’s the most “dramatic” installment to date, and this time around, the network isn’t lying. It has been revealed that Colton Underwood’s Season 23 closer will be shown in two parts, making his finale 4-hours in total.

As part of its 2019 Winter Press Tour presentation on Tuesday, ABC revealed that the current “The Bachelor” season will conclude with a live, two-night finale starting on Monday, March 11 and ending on Tuesday, March 12. Both episodes will kick off at 8 p.m. EST.

Host Chris Harrison will be joined by Colton onstage for the special as they discuss the footage live in front of a studio audience. The Hollywood Reporter shared the network is touting the finale as “unlike any other in Bachelor history.”

So, why the need for a two-night extended finale? We have the scoop. For weeks, it has been reported that Colton’s finale doesn’t go as planned.

[Warning: Spoilers Below!]

During his fantasy suite week, Colton is said to decide to pursue contestant Cassie Randolph, breaking up with fellow finalists Hannah Godwin and Tayshia Adams in the process. Though he decides on Cassie, she is said to quit the show after coming to the conclusion that she is not ready for an engagement, according to spoilers from Reality Steve.

“Cassie did leave the show at that point during overnights and went back home,” the site reported.

Fortunately for Colton, it appears Cassie had a change of heart. While the two are said to not be engaged, they are reportedly still dating.

Catch “The Bachelor” Mondays at 8 p.m. EST and watch the finale live starting Monday, March 11 on ABC.
